The first week of July, right after Independence day, I took a group of Japanese trainers from our institute (NLP Institute of Japan) to Santa Cruz.

We were all taking the first week of a three-week training held by NLP University.

The training was called “Master Trainer Certification program ”.

To my surprise out of the 48 participants, only three were American. The majority were Asian. Others were from Europe -France, Netherland, Finland, Sweden, UK and South America-Argentina, and Brazil.

Everyone, had some kind of experiences with training or teaching or coaching using NLP.

Boy, that group had people of caliber. I am not easily impressed with NLP professionals but this was an exceptional group. I might add that our trainers were recognized as the same.

People loved the presence of our group.

I am so proud of them.

We learned and developed our COACH state.

C-centered (being centered in your body)

O-open (opening yourself to the field)

A-aware (Being aware/having awareness)

C-connected (Connecting to your source and the outside source)

H-hold (holding the field)

Strategies of Geniuses, such as Einstein, Mozart, and Disney was decomposed. We learned the components of their creation and implemented them to our genius moments.

Overall, the training was based on creating a field. My field as a trainer.

The campus of UC Santa Cruz had a magical field of its own. I have never seen a family of deer up close. They seem to have claim of the campus and won’t budge for humans.

This was a first time for me to stay in a dormitory. It almost gave me an illusion that I was a college freshmen, getting familiar with campus life.

By the end of the week, it was difficult leaving SC and the group.

Beyond our differences of race, nationality, and sex, we have become family.

I can’t wait until we go back next year and finish the program.

Going back to Japan for business is a routine for me. I leave Los Angeles and come back from Tokyo in a week. This goes on every two months.

I had 4 weekend trainings scheduled between April and June in the 6 weeks time frame. Therefore I decided to bring my daughter Lolo, with me this time.

Naturally, her being in Japan is a great opportunity to improve her Japanese.

I long for her to be fluent in both English and Japanese.

Decided to enroll Lolo in a local preschool where she is surrounded by Japanese children her age.

My familiar stay in Tokyo had turned completely different.

I was forced into a different lifestyle, not just 24hours work.

I bought a bicycle with a child seat in the back. This way I can take her to school and go to the nearest subway station in a quarter of a time to the office.

I have always been fascinated with the tiny Japanese moms riding with the younger child in the front and the older child in the back of the bicycle. Talk about a circus act!

But the ultimate amazement is the bicycle parking at the subway station. How clever can you get?

It allows you to take you bicycle down a slope to the underground free parking.

When you pick up the bicycle to leave, the automatic conveyer belt starts moving. Hold the brakes, and walk up the stairs with your bicycle!

I love how the Japanese come up with these great devices that make your life much easier. And totally space efficient.

This is my third year in Los Angeles. I love the city with culture, food, people and the climate.

One of the places my family likes to visit on the weekend is Griffith Park. My daughter loves riding the pony, the choo choo train, and munching on the bag filled with popcorn.

The other hidden gem in the park is the Merry-go-round. It is isolated from rest of the attractions in the park.

This Merry-go-round was built in 1926, and brought to Griffith Park in 1937.

There are 68 hand carved wooden horses. The organ plays 1500 waltz and marches.

The other history is, that it was here , while watching his daughters ride the merry-go round, that Walt Disney envisioned a place where adults and their children enjoy rides together.

This was the “seed” of Disneyland.

I love Disney’s quote, “If you can dream it, you can do it. ”

Walt Disney, together with his brother Roy, created Disneyland in California. The “King Arthur Carsoul” is the transformation of the merry-go–round in Griffith Park.

Worldwide, the Disney themed parks are operating in Hongkong, Paris, Tokyo, with Shanghai scheduled to open in 2014.

The mery-go-round in Griffith park became the Disney Resorts empire.

Every great creation begins with an idea.

Let yourself dream.
